We started to evaluate the possibility to create Raster maps for Magellan GPS devices.

Even now we can release some information about future Raster maps:

Raster maps will be:

- compatible with next gen Magellan handhelds units - Tritons 400,500,1500,2000 ( SD slot required )

- delivered on SD cards ( like topo/roads maps )

- secured from copying ( like topo/road maps )

- possible to use in different GPS units, the maps are tied to SD cards - not the GPS unit ( like topo/road maps )

- created in WGS84 coordinate system

Additional feature is overlapping vector and raster maps ( just on PC, if the both maps are installed in VP ),

and then you can see 3D raster ( 3D is used from vector topo map)
